No the bottles uses a spe pem membrane method so it will not allow the pH influencing gases through it, just h2

Good question! The carbon can be crushed and disposed with your garden waste or can be added to flower beds (it will improve soil drainage and will slowly biodegrade); the plastic cups can be disposed in the recycling bin.

The 1.5l tank that has the filtered water in... is this acceptable for cleaning?

Yes it will reduce this but if you are on a private water supply and have a manganese issue, it might be better to address this at the point of entry rather just a single point of use. If this is the case, then please send us your water analysis and flow rate and we can advise you.
