No the bottles uses a spe pem membrane method so it will not allow the pH influencing gases through it, just h2

Good question! The carbon can be crushed and disposed with your garden waste or can be added to flower beds (it will improve soil drainage and will slowly biodegrade); the plastic cups can be disposed in the recycling bin.

filters are packed in individual boxes, 35x7x7. They are also sealed in plastic, so you can take them out of the boxes. The total weight of the 3 filters is about 2 kg.

Hello Elizabeth,
These quick change filters can be recycle and disposed of as per the below.
(Stage 1) 5 Micron Sediment Filter : this can simply be placed into the plastics recycling.
(Stage 2 & 3) Granular Activated Carbon Filters:
These filters can be placed in plastics recycling. However, the bottom of the filter will first need to be cut open using a hacksaw. The carbon can then be removed and thrown into the bin before placing the filters in recycling.
